Whats App New 2017 Full Detail.

How do I update WhatsApp?

The easiest way to update WhatsApp is through the Play Store, where updates will work their way to you automatically. Make sure it's not waiting for an update by opening the Play Store, pressing on the trio of lines in the top left to open the menu. There, select My apps & games and see if it's listed at the top of the screen.

To get beta versions of WhatsApp through the Play Store, you can sign up here, and then you'll have the latest features before all your friends do.

If you want to update WhatsApp manually, you can download the latest version of WhatsApp by visiting the WhatsApp update download page, or you can download the WhatsApp update APK through APK Mirror, where the latest version is always uploaded (including beta builds).

To install an APK, make sure you head into Settings > Security > Unknown sources and ensure the toggle is on. Then, press on the downloaded APK file and follow the instructions. For a more detailed explanation of what APKs are and what to do with them, take a look at our dedicated page.

The latest WhatsApp update: new Status features
Today, February 24, is WhatsApp's 8th birthday. To celebrate, the app is getting an update which will bring a new Status feature. It's already rolling out, so you can expect it within the coming days if you haven't seen it already.

Unable to buy Snapchat, Facebook is trying to duplicate the success of its features through WhatsApp Messenger. Since 2009, even before messaging was added as a function, it was possible to write text statuses on WhatsApp. Now, statuses are getting an upgrade, offering features similar to Snapchat. You can take photos, edit them to add emojis, text, stickers and more and publish them as your Status.

Your WhatsApp Status is visible for 24 hours. Of course, it is possible to manage your privacy settings to allow only some contacts (or all your contacts) to view your WhatsApp status. In short, if you are familiar with Snapchat or Instagram, you won't be lost when trying out the new features.

Recent WhatsApp update: two-step verification feature
Two-step verification is a well-known security feature already available on many other services like Facebook, Twitter, Google and Dropbox, among others. Using a special code to verify that you're you, this extra verification step makes your accounts more secure. WhatsApp now offers this feature too, but with a twist. The app allows you to create a six-digit passcode that will be required each time your phone number is verified with the application.

To enable the two-step verification feature: open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Account > Two-step verification, then tap Enable and set your code. It's that simple.

Recent WhatsApp update: GIF features added
In the past year or two, there have been a lot of major WhatsApp updates, like the addition of video calling, end-to-end encryption, voicemail, tons of new emoji, Google Drive backups and the end of the subscription fee. And now, you can convert videos into GIFs, share them and search for them on Giphy.

Convert videos into GIFs and share: Tap the attachment icon in a conversation, record a video, then hit OK. When the video trimming page pops up, tap the camcorder icon on the upper right and it will switch to a GIF icon. Then you can send your up to six second long video as a GIF.

Share GIFs from Giphy or Tenor: Tap the emoji button and you can choose between the GIF and emoji modes on the bar that shows up at the bottom. Choose GIF and you can see a list of popular emoji or search by keyword for just the right GIF for the occasion. The GIF feature is from either Giphy or Tenor, with users split between the two services evenly.

New media sharing limit: The media sharing limit has been raised from 10 to 30, so you can now share up to 30 photos or videos at once.

To get these features, update your app to the 2.17.6 beta through the Google Play Store, or by searching for the APK online.

The popular messaging app, which has over a billion active customers worldwide, is testing a brand new feature that it says will change the way people communicate around the world.

However if you're keen to try out the new feature, you may be out of luck, as WhatsApp is only set to roll out the addition to some users.

That’s because WhatsApp is now apparently looking to conquer the world of business and workplace communications.

The Hindustan Times has claimed that a new platform called 'WhatsApp for Business', specifically targeted at business users, is being tested now.

"WhatsApp for Business is all about small and medium businesses,” WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton reportedly said, "where you have a small employee count and have a large customer count, and the goals are very different."

The service would allow companies whose employees need to travel a lot, or carry out a lot of work using mobile devices, to stay in touch simply and easily using WhatsApp.

The new platform is being tested in India now, and will launch in the country soon, followed by Brazil and Indonesia, before hopefully spreading to other markets.

However WhatsApp, which reportedly has around 200 million users in India, may face sterner competition in countries such as the UK, where services such as Slack and Skype are still popular.

It's not known if WhatsApp will look to charge business customers to use the new app, or whether it will keep the service free, like its mobile offerings.

The launch is the latest new service revealed by WhatsApp in recent weeks as the company looks to keep its users engaged with the app.

Earlier this month, the company rolled out its new WhatsApp Status feature to users across Android and iOS smartphones.

Much like Snapchat or Instagram’s Stories, WhatsApp Status lets users send updates using photo and video content to their friends.

Like Instagram and Snapchat, you can set up multiple updates, which will play one after the other, giving your contacts a full view of your day.

These can be further customised by adding emoji and text annotations, with a wide variety of colours available, but will disappear after 24 hours.

The new Status feature can be accessed via a new menu on the WhatsApp home page
The launch comes days after Android users were finally able to enjoy hundreds of new WhatsApp emoji as part of another major update.

The update included a facepalm, selfie, pregnant woman, a mother and a son, and a father with two kids, as well as a number of new gender diversity and sexuality options, with female versions of many jobs, sports and activity emoji that had previously only had a male symbol.

There is also a new rainbow flag emoji, along with a number of same-sex couple icons.

WhatsApp can now play any video received in a chat right away, without needing to wait for it to download first.

Videos will still be downloaded to your phone, which will occur in the background, but this update means there’s no need to hold on to start watching.

Also included is animated GIF support, allowing Android users to send and receive GIFs for the first time, and improvements to WhatsApp video calling.
With over a Billion monthly active user base, Whatsapp is easily the world’s biggest instant messaging platform. On its 8th birthday in early February, Whatsapp introduced a new feature by the name of ‘Status’.
With all the internet buzz around the feature, people are left wondering about the concept of ‘Status’. Here we decode the latest feature for you:
What is ‘Status’?
WhatsApp’s latest feature allows users to put up a Status in the form of an Image, GIF or a Video. The fun part about it is that these Statuses will last for only 24 hours and then be removed automatically.
Remember how you used to put up a cool single-liner as a Status and then forget about it. This new feature will not allow you to be dormant and still be visible on the platform. If you want to be in people’s eyes, you have to post regular Status updates, a fresh one daily.

How does it work?
Let us remember the older WhatsApp version for a minute. Three columns were placed from left to right, namely ‘Calls’, ‘Chats’ and ‘Contacts’. To view anyone’s text-based Status, you could swipe to the Contacts list.
In the WhatsApp ‘Status’ update, the columns have been rearranged to include a column wholly dedicated to the Statuses being put by your contacts. The ‘Chat’ section has been shifted to the left and works just as before. The ‘Calls’ section has been moved to the extreme right.
Two new columns shape the entire new update. In the ‘Status’ section in the middle, you can view any updates being put by your contacts. If a contact puts up more than one Status update in a day, those statuses will appear consecutively under the same contact name. Look for the White bar on top. The number of parts it is split into indicates the number of statuses that person has put.
To toggle between these statuses, you can simply tap the screen or swipe in any direction you want to toggle. WhatsApp will display the next person’s Status upon swiping. There is also an option of ‘Mute’ on the top right which will prevent any further Status by that contact to be shown in your ‘Status’ feed.
To promote interactivity amongst users, WhatsApp has included an option of ‘Reply’ on the bottom of each status. This allows you to send a direct message to the person encapsulating the Status on which you are replying.

Now let’s focus on how to put up a status. The ‘Camera’ icon on the extreme left opens up your camera and lets you quickly capture an image, make a video or upload from your library as a Status. The suggestion bar also shows images from your recent WhatsApp chats.
Alternatively, under the column ‘Status’, you can click on the ‘My Status’ option on the top and put up a new status.
After selecting an image to upload, you can write a caption, add text, crop, add an emoji or sketch on the image. This all can be done from a single window right before publishing the Status by the bottom right 'send' icon.
The ‘settings’ panel on the top-right now includes a new option of ‘Status Privacy’ using which you can set a list of contacts which will be able to see your Status Updates. Right next to it is again an option of putting up a new Status.
To delete a Status that you put, open the 'Status' column, click on the Status which you want to delete, then tap on the 'Trash' icon. This window will also show you who all viewed your Status.

Cool or Not?
It depends. If you are a teenager who is fond of regularly uploading your pictures on various Social Media platforms, WhatsApp can potentially be the biggest platform for your online visibility. Good News, right?
On the other hand, if you don’t like facing the camera so much, this update can be completely useless for you and might come as a disadvantage.
Supposing you go out of town for a week or so, the earlier version let you put up a status mentioning that to anyone who tried to contact you through WhatsApp. That option has gone to the winds now and no longer can people know what you are up to if you don’t put up a Status daily.
What is all the buzz around it?
A long story of rivalries amongst two tech giants can be blamed for such an update. Facebook, easily the biggest of all the social media platforms, has made repeated efforts to acquire SnapChat in the past. While Facebook successfully took hold of WhatsApp and Instagram, two biggest platforms in their respective line of purpose, Snapchat Co-Founders turned down Mark Zuckerberg’s offers on several occasions.
Mark Zuckerberg is since then trying to put Snapchat out of business by rolling out similar features on his own platforms. Instagram ‘Stories’ and WhatsApp ‘Status’ are big enough proofs of that.
Snapchat came up with the idea of renewed Statuses in every 24 hours back in 2011. The app is still a big hit and now that it is about to declare its IPO, might become a serious contender to Facebook-owned platforms in the smartphone segment.
WhatsApp has the largest user base and with such a feature can potentially be harmful to Snapchat’s growth. This, only if WhatsApp plays its cards right and keeps its user base happy.
Keeping this in mind, there are reports of WhatsApp bringing back the old text Status option, upon the requests of a large portion of its user base.
